The play starts with the shooter, #3, with the ball. #5 sets a screen in the lane for #2 who breaks out to the left wing and receives the pass from #3. #5, after downscreening for #2, steps up the lane and backscreens for #3. #3 has the option to cut over the top of the screen and to the low block area OR he can fake the cut and step back looking for the return pass from #2 and the open shot. |

Assuming #3 made his cut all the way through, #5 will now ballscreen for #2 on the left wing area. As #2 comes over the screen from #5, #4 is downscreening for #1. #5 rolls into the lane after the ballscreen and sets a downscreen for #3. #2 now has the option to score off the ballscreen OR pass the ball to #1 or #3 coming off their respective downscreens. |
