Rayyan OB Under vs. Zone Defense

#3 and #5 start the play with #5 screening in on the post defender while #3 breaks out to the ball side corner. It helps if #3 is a shooter.

#4 then breaks down to hole created by #5 and #3's screen and cut.

#1 enters the ball to #3 in the right corner. #3 passes up on the top right to #2. #1 steps in opposite the ball and out to the left high wing area.

Once #2 has the ball, #5 comes back and sets a screen on the wing defender guarding #3. At the same time, #4 is stepping in the lane to occupy the inside post defender. This action will create a gap behind the zone as #3 cuts to the basket.

If the post player helps on the cut, #4 should be open. If #3's defender helps on the cut, #5 would be open for a mid-range or three point shot, assuming you have a post player who can shoot on the perimeter.

It is important to note that the screening and post up action from #5 and #4 does not take place until the ball reaches #2's hand on top.

Consequently, if #3 cannot receive the inbounds pass and #1 must pass straight out to #2 on top, the screening and posting action would then begin since #2 has received the ball.
